It was a pleasure to be asked to make a gift for the school, from the year 6 leavers 2018.

The schools motto is ” Great Oaks from Little Acorns”. It was clear to me after the first meeting this project had to be an acorn. I wanted something elegant in design as this would be on display in the schools reception for everyone to see. I used glass for the acorn and added the school colours in the glass blowing process.

Gazing through the glass you will see a brass plaque with the schools motto engraved. The bottom of the nut had been turned on a lathe and the podium base was made in a traditional manner using Oak timber.
