Thorn Table
The inspiration for the design of this table came from my local wood where I have spent many hours on my bicycle enjoying being at one with nature.
I wanted to bring my favourite place home, so I hand made some thorny looking twigs with a spoke shave; using maple and walnut as my preferred timbers.
I entwined these branch like creations into a non-conventional shaped table held together with dovetail housings. The table is topped off with a fresh clean crisp peace of glass. I also introduced aluminium which I have also dovetailed into design. The idea of using metal came from farm yard machinery which I see when enjoying the country side.
