Water Cabinet
Timber swells when introduced to water. This piece aims to combat this constraint and combine these two natural entities. Contemporary slipped dovetail housing allows the frame to harmoniously encapsulate the miniature aquarium at its heart.
The correct cut of American burr maple reveals a natural graphic that is repeated in the bubbles rising through the water. Signature ‘through dovetails’ fastens the carcass together whilst hidden access points allow personal artefacts to be displayed in the watery depths.
