The inspiration for the design of this table came from my local wood. I wanted to bring my favourite place home, so I hand made some thorny looking twigs with a spoke shave; using maple and walnut as my preferred timbers.
I entwined these branch like creations into a non-conventional shaped table held together with dovetail housings. The table is topped off with a fresh clean crisp peace of glass. I also introduced aluminium which I have also dovetailed into design. The idea of using metal came from farm yard machinery which I see when enjoying the country side.
Selecting the right material for a Howard Butler piece is an essential part of developing it’s character. Knowing not only how it will look aesthetically today but how it will age and strengthen over time. Each HB creation also comes with a guide on how to keep it fresh and last a lifetime.
